of Natural Medicine offers a unique approach to the
creative study of Herbal Medicine that combines theory,
with practical hands-on skills and experiential wisdom in
our Master Herbalist (MH) training.
STUDY
MATERIALS
The
course takes the student deep in the theories of the
history, chemistry and biological influences, offers the
opportunity to organize information invaluable for creating
your own herbal pharmacy and dispensary, requires
collecting and storing plants, and researching cultural
approaches to integrating herbal medicine into daily life.
An in-depth Materia Medica of over 100 herbs includes
categories related to all the major healing systems around
the world, including Chinese, European, Ayurvedic and
Native American cultures and is supplemented by extensive
scientific references.
HERBS
OF GRACE PHARMACY & DISPENSARY
SNM's
system of herbal formulas which are blended individually
for each client has been proven consistently effective by
hundreds of graduates and thousands of clients from around
the world for thirty years. The formulas are integrated
with effective and individual iris analysis which guides
the purification and regeneration of major organs, glands,
body systems and the constitution, activation of the
eliminative channels as well as the relief of symptoms and
discomfort.
SELF
HEALING MODULE
Each
student commits to taking their inner ecology herbal
formula based on case taking and their iridology analysis
to experience directly the health building result of the
right herbs at the right time for the right person!!!

Following are the educational modules for the Master
Herbalist course.
All modules have assignments– reading, creative, writing
and practical.
SELF-HEALING
MODULE
The
highest level of training is the embodiment of the
teachings in daily life. We wish our students to graduate
as radiant living examples and authentic teachers and
guides for those seeking health and healing.
An in-depth consultation, with either Farida Sharan or
Bonny White, includes iris photography, analysis,
educational instruction, and a personal healing programme,
which is followed over a minimum of three months.
HERBAL
INTENSIVE - LEVEL ONE (total 36 hours)
History
and philosophy, food as medicine/food as poison, holistic
anatomy and physiology, formulae preparation, making
tinctures, salves, poultices, etc., prescribing formulae,
prescribing individual herbs, applications for herbal
medicines in purification and rejuvenation programs, self
healing, life maintenance, different life phases and for
chronic disease recovery, Materia Medica study, herbal
medicine integrated with naturopathic practices.
HERBAL
INTENSIVE - LEVEL TWO (total 36 hours)
Creating
a herbal pharmacy, quality control, growing herbs, wild
crafting, ethical harvesting, plant identification,
applications for herbal medicine in aging, pregnancy,
menopause, childhood diseases, pre and post operative care,
etc. Materia Medica study, preparing individual healing
programmes.

Each
lesson has reading and assignments that must be completed
to a satisfactory standard prior to graduation.
Lesson One
History and Philosophy: Atlantean, Ayurvedic, Chinese,
Buddhist, Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Islamic, European, North
American Indian, physiomedical and present day discoveries
such as herbal crystals.
Lesson Two
Chemistry. Ideology, religion, mythological fertility, and
nature's pharmacy, scientific chemistry, growth, natural
selection, climate, soil, senses, cycles, active
principles, collecting, harvesting, storage, astrology,
plant use, extraction, drugs, organic, inorganic.
Lesson Three
Nutrition: "Food as Medicine", optimum foods, healing
diets, fasting, longevity. "Food as Poison", poor eating
habits, food combining, effects of emotions, constipation,
hot and cold, acid/alkaline, liquids, social habits,
traveling, additives, pollution, alcohol, utensils,
caffeine, chocolate, eggs, meat, fish, flour, irradiated
food, oils, pesticides, pollution, salt, sugar, canned
foods, tobacco. Addictions and cure.
Lesson Four
Herbal formulas: Creating formulas, prescription symbols,
abbreviations and measuring terminology. Organization of
formulas according to different criteria. Herbal therapies.
Herbs to avoid in pregnancy.
Lesson Five, Six, Seven
Materia Medica: Cosmic holotrophic herbalism. 100 herbs:
action, active ingredients, activity, applications,
aromatherapy, astrology, Ayurveda, cautions,
contraindications, chakras, elements and emotions, Chinese
medicine, combinations, cultivation, dosage, energetics,
flower essences, formulas, habitat, history, homeopathy,
meridians, organs, names, nutrients, part used,
personality, plant description, research, spiritual
properties, substitutions, systems, taste, tissues,
wildcrafting and preparation.
Lesson Eight
Body systems: Development of holistic and holotropic
perceptions, exploration of body/mind/spirit influences,
acupuncture, polarity therapy, zone therapy, astrology;
herbs, treatment, formulas, vitamins and minerals for body
systems, organs and glands.
Lesson Nine
Botany: systems for the naming and identifying plants,
collecting and preparing herbarium specimens. Plant
classification appendix. Illustrated.
Lesson Ten
Herbal pharmacy and dispensary I: How to set up and
administrate a pharmacy. Dosage. Methods of herbal
application.
Lesson Eleven
Herbal pharmacy and dispensary II: First aid treatment.
Acute conditions, bites, wounds, accidents. Applications
include fomentations, infusions, ointments, ovules, pill
making, poultices, plasters, powders, smoking herbs, snuff
and nasal herbs, suppositories, syrups, tinctures. Drug
substitution. Iatrogenic drug induced disease. Travel.

Lesson Twelve
Herbs and healing: Bach Flower Remedies, aromatherapy,
homeopathy, hand and foot baths, pendulums, pulsors,
psychological information on the effect of emotions on
health, herbs to use for healing body/mind/spirit. Effects
of meditation and affirmations for health and healing.
