the Healing Arts"
ABOUT
BONNY WHITE ND, MH, MIR, FBRI, MGNI,
MAMH
Bonny
has been a practicing Naturopath, Master Herbalist and
Master Iridologist for more than twenty years, and has
studied with many of the pioneers of modern Iridology and
Naturopathy, including Dr. John R. Christopher, Dr.
Farida Sharan, Dr. Bernard Jensen, Willy Hauser and
Dorothy Hall. She has been a teacher at the School of
Natural Medicine since 1989, and is now the Director of
the School of Natural Medicine, U.K. She is also a full
member of the Guild of Naturopathic Iridologists and a
member of the Association of Master Herbalists.
Building upon the foundation of Naturopathic medicine,
Bonny utilizes Iridology and an in-depth case history to
create cleansing and rejuvenation programmes, with an
emphasis on diet and nutrition, herbal medicine,
supportive naturopathic therapies and treatments, flower
essences and the use of therapeutic essential oils. In
addition she utilizes a system of contemplative arts
based on mindfulness and loving kindness to address the
mental and emotional patterns connected with illness. She
also refers patients for evaluation, treatment and
therapy outside her sphere, depending on the needs of the
individual.
Bonny's practice is unique, in that she has evolved a
system of body/mind healing based on years of observation
and study of the connection between how the iris
constitutional types manifest themselves physically, and
the mental and emotional tendencies of each patient. She
found that not only are combinations of physical
strengths and weaknesses (constitutions) pathways toward
particular physical symptoms but there are also mental
and emotional pathways toward illness that go
hand-in-hand with each constitutional type. Further, the
connection is such that for healing to be genuine and
long lasting it must take place holistically within the
individual.
It was observations of the body/mind connection in both
health and illness that led her to undertake an in-depth
comparative study of Iris Constitutions and Naturopathic
Medicine, with Ayurvedic (Vata, Pita, Kapha), Tibetan
(Rloong, Mkrispa, Badkan), and Chinese (Wood, Fire,
Earth, Metal, Water) views of body/mind constitutions. As
part of this study she traveled to India, Nepal and
Thailand so as to exchange dialogues with Tibetan
doctors, Traditional Nepali healers, Thai healers,
Ayurvedic doctors and Taoist teachers.
This study revealed a wealth of information about how the
elements manifest as physical/mental illness. However, as
negative mental states go through the process of healing,
the pattern of mental/emotional weakness associated with
the individuals constitutional type evolves to the
positive expression of the same pattern, and a whole new
level of consciousness is born. What was once a
‘weakness’ now becomes the individuals ‘gift’; a gift of
genuine value to enjoy and to share with others.
Simultaneously the physical body returns to a state of
energy and wellness.
