Herbal Medicine Legislation

Codex Alimentarius

If you are interested in your health and wellness, and care about freedom of choice and the ability to purchase many items that you have grown to consider an important part of a healthy life, then you need to know about a little known inter-governmental body called Codex Alimentarius. This organization is predominantly influenced by the interests of large corporations. If you want your voice to be heard then I most heartily recommend that you learn about and support my favourite natural health organization, the Alliance for Natural Health. This flyer was created by them to ‘bottom line’ the issues surrounding Codex Alimentarius control of consumer guidelines for food additives, GMO’s and more than 30 other committees, including guidelines for maximum daily dosages for vitamins and minerals, and the use of herbs. Have a look at the following information and visit the Alliance for Natural Health website to learn more. As noted on this flyer, “The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.”

A little fun to welcome in the Spring ;)

Nutrient Dense Vegetable - Organic vs. Inorganic

organic vs inorganic

Eating nutritionally dense food is vital for health and longevity. Eating lots of fruits and vegetables is heading in the right direction, but the quality of food is as important as what you eat. Find a source of good quality organic food and eat it regularly. I recommend Riverford Organic vegetable boxes which can be delivered to your home.

Another option is Abel & Cole, where you can buy by the box or pick and choose your own selection of fruits, vegetable and other organic foods. Both Riverford and Abel & Cole have a market of essential items available online that you can add to your box order. Bread, dairy products, wine and packaged foods. Typically I like to get the large family box delivered once a week, then I only have to shop for fresh fruit and vegetables once a week. Well worth the time to set yourself up with a service like this.

School of Natural Medicine Founder, Farida Sharan, speaks about Herbal Medicine

Here Farida Sharan, our school founder and a leading pioneer in the world of herbal medicine, iridology and naturopathy, discusses the important role that herbal medicine plays in self healing and our search for independent health. A wonderful opportunity to hear Farida Sharan speak very personally about this subject that is so close to her heart.

Herbal Medicine Legislation introduced by James Enkel from Herbs of Grace

James Enkel has had a long association with the School of Natural Medicine through his father, Peter Enkel, an early graduate of the School of Natural Medicine and the owner of Herbs of Grace, the herbal company founded by Farida Sharan in 1977 when she first began to practice and teach here in the United Kingdom. The formulae created by Farida Sharan were the foundation of Herbs of Grace, a company that is now under the care of Peter’s son, James. James Enkel is beginning to explore making short films on the subject of Herbal Medicine at a time when the future of herbal medicine is under serious threat.
